Luminary Hotel & Co. Groundbreaking

Mainsail Lodging & Development is sowing it’s oats in Fort Myers, Florida. We are proud to announce the addition of a new Autograph Collection Hotel to our growing portfolio. On Friday, October 6th city officials, the Mainsail Lodging & Development team and business owners from around Fort Myers gathered to break ground for construction of Luminary Hotel & Co.

CityLocated in beautiful downtown Fort Myers, the 12 story high rise hotel will lie in the river front district and overlook the Caloosahatchee. The 243 room hotel will boast over 8,000 square feet of function space and will have connectivity to the Harborside Event Center. Mainsail Lodging & Development will be completing a massive renovation of the event center providing a modern aesthetic on the interior. Down towards the water’s edge, an amphitheater for use of the event center, hotel and city will be constructed. With a newly renovated event center, a unique Autograph Collection hotel located directly next door and riverfront amphitheater; Fort Myers will see an influx of events and groups flocking to the city’s River District.

Fort Myers has a colorful, historical past which inspired Luminary’s name, aesthetic and outlets. We teamed up with local artist, Joshua NoomCow painting , who put a modern twist on Fort Myers’ influential figures. These immaculate illustrations will be seen throughout the hotel and represent the many different outlets offered at Luminary Hotel & Co.. All outlets will be open to hotel guests and Fort Myers locals.

One thing is for certain; if you come to the Luminary Hotel & Co. you will not leave hungry. There will be three spots within the hotel to wine and dine. The Silver King Ocean Brasserie will be Luminary’s signature restaurant and will feature fresh seafood, classically prepared, with menus created by Chef Chad Johnson. Chef Chad Johnson serves as the Executive Chef of ÉlevageHaven and was the 2012 & 2104 James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chef: South. Luminary will also feature Ella Mae’s Diner, with street level access. This classic diner will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Think comfort food with finesse. The rooftop bar, Beacon Social Drinkery, will have impressive views of the river and downtown Fort Myers. Beacon will be a modern, sophisticated spot to grab small plates and expertly crafted cocktails.

unique fish designUnlike any other hotel in the Fort Myers area, Luminary will be home to The Workshop. Inspired by Thomas Edison’s desire to create, this culinary lab is a creative space for individuals to create, learn and inspire. Like all outlets, The Workshop will be open to the public and is a unique option to host meetings and events.

Luminary Hotel & Co. is slated to open in fall of 2019. Curious for more details on the hotel? Check out more information here.
