Mainsail Lodging & Development announced today the promotion of Tom Haines to vice president of operations. For the past four years, Haines has served as general manager of the boutique 137-room Epicurean Hotel in the trendy Hyde Park historic district of South Tampa. In his new role, Haines will oversee operations at all hotels in Mainsail Lodging’s portfolio, as well as pre-openings for new hospitality projects.

During his time as general manager of the Epicurean, Haines achieved excellence in guest service and enhanced staff engagement and development, and received a number of industry accolades, including the 2015 Mustang Award from Marriott International.

“Tom continues to push the envelope with creativity, developing strategic partnerships with vendors and clients, and setting the bar for community involvement,” said Juli Corlew, vice president and managing partner of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “He’s become an integral part of our company, and we are enthusiastic to have him step into this new role.”

With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Haines came to Mainsail from the Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando, where he worked for nine years. As executive assistant manager at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, he worked with the general manager to direct daily operations at the 750-room resort.
