Spa Evangeline at Epicurean Hotel Names Spa Director & Product Lines

Posted by Epicurean, October 2013

TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2013) – The Epicurean Hotel has announced the appointment of Ashley Spurlock as the Spa Director of Spa Evangeline, located inside the 137-room boutique Epicurean Hotel scheduled to open in December.  As Spa Director, Spurlock will oversee day-to-day operations, including staff management, client appointments, promotions and spa product lines.  Named for Evangeline, the iconic statue located in the neighboring Bern’s Steak House, the 2,800-square-foot spa features five treatment rooms, including two couple’s treatment rooms, a relaxation room and manicure and pedicure stations.

Prior to joining Spa Evangeline, Spurlock served as the spa director of Spa Botanica at the Embassy Suites in Rogers, Ark. for five years. She also worked as the director of business development for WellQuest Medical Clinic and Spa in Arkansas, where she discovered a love of all things “spa.” Spurlock earned a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Arkansas and is an active member of the International Spa Association.

Spa Evangeline will be developed and operated on behalf of the Epicurean hotel by WTS International – one of the world’s leading spa management firms. The spa will house two product lines – FarmHouse Fresh® and Caudalie. Based in Texas, FarmHouse Fresh® creates natural and organic bath and body products designed with southern vintage flair and using indigenous regional ingredients. Keeping with the Epicurean’s culinary theme, FarmHouse Fresh® will offer their liquor-based body polishes, including Butter Rum, Bourbon Bubbler, Watermelon-Basil Vodkatini and the top-selling Whoopie! Cream – all of which can be experienced in a variety of spa treatments.

Spa Evangeline’s second product line – Caudalie – is the creator of Vinothérapie® and was founded in the heart of the vineyards in Bordeaux, France. Vinothérapie® combines the virtues of naturally warm spring water rich in minerals and trace elements with the latest scientific findings on the benefits of the vine and grapes. Spa services such as the quintessential cabernet massage and the vinoperfect radiance facial showcase Caudalie’s products and blend perfectly with the Epicurean Hotel’s delectable spa offerings.

The Epicurean Hotel, currently under construction in the trendy Hyde Park district of South Tampa, is being developed in collaboration with Mainsail Lodging & Development and the legendary Bern’s Steak House. The hotel will be the first newly constructed hotel property in the United States to join the prestigious Autograph Collection® of Marriott International, Inc.

The Epicurean Hotel will feature 5,200-square feet of flexible  event  space, a state-of-the-art culinary classroom known as the Epicurean Theatre, Élevage a restaurant where classic recipes are re-imagined, Edge Social Drinkery rooftop bar, Chocolate Pi pâtisserie, Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits wine shop and Evangeline full-service spa. A few of the special experiences planned for the Epicurean include bicycles to explore Hyde Park and Bayshore Boulevard, evening wine samplings, signature organic bath products, and luxury linens and pillows.
