Epicurean Hotel Updates Élevage, EDGE and Theatre with Creative Menus, Refreshed Areas and Revamped Theatre Programming

Posted by Kelly Stafford, November 2019

TAMPA, Fla. (November 7, 2019) – Following the hiring of new Executive Chef Jason Bamford, Tampa’s popular Epicurean Hotel has introduced an innovative “American fusion” menu at its signature restaurant, Élevage SoHo Kitchen & Bar, and EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge. Under the direction of Chef Jason, the hotel has also unveiled a series of programming changes for their Epicurean Theatre. Élevage is open for dinner nightly and weekend brunch, while the Élevage Lounge is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour and weekend brunch. EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge is open Tuesday through Saturday.

“We turned to Chef Jason’s 20 years of culinary experience to guide us in the process of updating both the Élevage and EDGE menus,” said Kevin Scott, general manager of Epicurean. “The end result is nothing short of amazing; the dishes are innovative, aesthetically beautiful and above all, pleasing to the palate.”

Élevage’s menu is inspired by a variety of cultures, including Indian, Mediterranean, Asian and others. Starters include dishes such as the dry aged beef tartare, charred octopus and hand-pulled burrata. Other dishes on the new menu include Ora King Salmon, Colorado Lamb, Australian Wagyu and Squid Ink Chitarra. A variety of vegetarian dishes also grace the menu and range from Grilled Aubergine and Charred Avocado to Whole Roasted Cauliflower and Roasted Roots. The Élevage Lounge area has been refreshed with comfortable seating in lighter, earthier tones combined with colorful accent pillows, making guests feel more at home. Sliding glass doors open from the lounge out to the stylish patio area, allowing visitors to enjoy the Florida weather. While the menus have been completely overhauled, one foodie-favorite dish remains on the Élevage Lounge menu – the Homage to Bern’s pressed steak sandwich, a nod to their legacy, Bern’s Steak House.

The new EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge menu features chef-inspired small plates, including Vietnamese Chicken Salad, Falafel Salad and a Fried Chicken Bánh Mì. An updated cocktail program showcases well-made classics, while highlighting creative signature offerings such as the Snap Chat with sugar snap peas and A Head of Lettuce made with Reyka vodka, fresh lettuce and olive oil.

The hotel’s Epicurean Theatre has revamped its programming to better serve hotel guests and residents alike, with none other than Tampa’s own Chef Jeff Philbin of “MasterChef” fame at the helm. Chef Jeff is planning a robust weekly schedule open to the public on Mondays and Fridays. The Monday programming will be filled with interactive and knowledge-based classes such as wine tastings and how-to cooking classes. Friday nights, while also interactive, will be geared toward date nights or nights out with friends and will focus on demonstrations and tastings. The classes will be taught by Chef Jeff himself or one of his very skilled foodie friends or colleagues. During the remainder of the nights, the Epicurean Theatre will be available to reserve for meetings and private events.

The food-focused Epicurean Hotel features a state-of-the-art culinary classroom known as the Epicurean Theatre; Élevage SoHo Kitchen & Bar signature restaurant; EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge; Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits wine shop; Evangeline full-service spa; B&G’s Little Midway Ice Cream & Pastry Parlor and 5,200-square feet of flexible event space. The Epicurean Hotel was developed in collaboration with Mainsail Lodging & Development and the legendary Bern’s Steak House and is the first newly constructed hotel property in the United States to join the prestigious Autograph Collection® of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR).  For information and reservations at the Epicurean Hotel, call (855) U-AWAKEN (829-2536) or visit EpicureanHotel.com.
