Cooking Competition Pairs Local Chefs and Residents to Benefit Hillsborough County Center of Excellence

Posted by Epicurean, October 2017

The Hillsborough County Center of Excellence and the Epicurean Hotel are partnering with celebrity chef Max Hardy and FOX 13 anchor Russell Rhodes to host “Chefs for Excellence” cooking competition. Participants can choose to be part of the action and compete or sit on the sidelines and enjoy the show.

Four teams of four, each coached by a renowned local chef, will compete in two rounds that both feature challenging mystery ingredients. Leading the teams are
Chef Ferrell Alvarez – Rooster & the Till; Michael Buttacavoli – Cena; Tyson Grant – Parkshore Grill; and Eric Lackey – Ulele. Each competing chef will receive autographed copies of Amar’e Stoudemire and Chef Max’s cookbooks and a gift basket.

Seats are also available to be part of the live audience. Spectators receive a three-course menu, including wine and dessert from Mike’s Pies.

The proceeds benefit the Hillsborough County Center of Excellence, a non-profit organization that works with disadvantaged youths.
